Blocking A Program In Firewall With Windows 7 or 8
Step 1- Open Control Panel
In the Control Panel search for “System and Security” and Click “Windows Firewall” in the next screen. If you are browsing in classic View the “Windows Firewall” Option should appear directly in Control panel Home screen.
Step 2- Open Advanced settings
In the left corner of the screen click “Advanced settings”. You will be taken to “Windows Firewall and Advanced Security”. Here you will need to set command for a specific program for which Firewall will behave differently.
Step 3- Inbound rules
In the left corner of the screen scroll down to “Inbound Rules” and click on “New Rule” on the right menu. That will open the Inbound Rule wizard.
Step 4- Setup Guide
In the Wizard the process will be divided in Steps like this:
- Select Program in the first Step and click next. The Wizard will be set to program by default.
- In the next Step select program path (Default setting) and browse to the directory of the program you want to block. Our aim is to look for the executable (.exe) file that runs the program and block it.
- In the next step you will see 3 options, “Allow the connection”, “Allow the connection if it is secure” and “Block connection”. Check Block connection, this will block any kind of Internet access to the program.

Step 1- Open Firewall
Simply search for “Firewall” using Window+S or your Taskbar and open it.
Step 2- Navigating to Allow App
