Social media went on a frenzy yesterday with Whatsapp rolling out some very interesting features for its new update. The beta testers got a taste of some of the features before it was actually launched. The update got more attention than any WhatsApp Update ever and rightfully so. Some features seem to be coming by popular demand of the audience, including revoke unread messages. And after the horror show of WhatsApp stories, here are some things to look forward to.
Whatsapp Update April 2017
1. The WhatsApp Update- Revoke feature
In the beta update, the testers got a glimpse of the revoke feature. Any message sent to anyone in WhatsApp can be called back within five minutes of being sent. We are not sure but the option to revoke a message seems to be available until the receiver has seen it. This feature minimizes any embarrassing mistakes that you might have done and goes well to deal with them.
2. Editing and Deleting Messages
Although not clear about the time limit WhatsApp will allow you to edit and delete any unwanted sent messages to the recipient. Poor life decisions are very common and being drunk doesn’t help the cause. Gladly WhatsApp is here for you!!
3. Write in Bold and Italics
WhatsApp new version will also have the option to write in bold, italics and underlined just like a Microsoft Word document. The option will be available somewhere on the right side for users to access and make use of. The option to write in these methods is surely exciting but the question remains how many of these can we get the update, if not all.
Being in a group is nothing like being in a Line group. Groups have been the same since, just like a WhatsApp Update for Windows phone, the groups needed a much important revamp. The Famous Indian Chatting App seems to be bringing in a real-time live tracking feature for group contacts, in real-time. The beta version allowed users to keep track of a group mate for few minutes before changing it.
5. The UI
With so many new features there are bound to be some changes in the UI. For example, the option to enable revoking will not be readily available, we have to enable it from the menu and also for groups something new is expected and welcome.
WhatsApp will make some noises with this update for sure but most features are still in beta and it’s a far cry to expect everything in one update. We might see something new and enjoyable at last from the world’s most famous messaging app. Over the years WhatsApp has gone stale and with new apps taking a chunk of their base, it’s high time they start showing who’s the boss. So, what’s your favorite part, Revoke Unread Messages or Bold Italic Text?
