Microsoft unveiled their latest Surface Pro Laptop at $999 on last Tuesday. Kind of cheap, isn’t it? It was supposed to be the best laptop for users providing the best experience, from a smoother GUI to a faster accessibility. However, things became worse when gamer found out their very core is missing in it. It is definitely a bad option if you are planning to buy it. Why? Let’s have a deeper look.
Steam is the best platform for all gamer, where one goes haywire from Dota 2 to LOL to Counter Strike. Steam is our love, our partner of life. The best of best games are found on it, where one can engage in multiplayer games and play the most engaging single player modes.
However, Surface Pro Laptop is built on Windows 10 S. What does that mean? It means, the stupid operating system from Microsoft is actually too limited. Windows 10 S only supports Microsoft Windows Store Apps. Rest are simply thrown into garbage. And that includes the beloved Steam.
If you are a gamer, you may know what Steam holds the value. Surface laptop dumping Valve means a huge value to dumping the Surface laptop itself. I don’t really think you are planning to play Windows Store Games, are you?
Additionally, Surface Laptop features an Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 128GB SSD hard drive and an Intel HD Graphics 620 graphics processor. The top model increases the hard drive to 512 GB, the RAM to 16 GB, boasts an i7 processor and an HD Graphics 640 GPU. It’s an okay okay configuration, but not meant to play heavy games.
Surface Laptop was always aimed at regular office guys and normal people, not for the likes of gamers. If you are planning to buy real cool laptops for gaming, there are plenty of options to start with. You can get super configurations at price of 1000$. Or you can opt to make your own custom if you are so eager.
Re-think before you buy Surface Laptop, don’t just fall for the brand, consider the love for Steam again. Be smart, even the goats run in a line. Do not regret buying a Surface Laptop and crying over heavy gaming. Cheers!
